Peace Passers
We're happy to share a community service project led two of our players: Ava Forbes-Smith and Steph Brodil from our 03 NPL Team.
The two have teamed up with Peace Passers to facilitate the donation of old uniforms for school project. Peace Passers is a 501(c)(3) that collects new and gently used soccer equipment and redistributes it around the world to those who may be less fortunate than we are.
As Liverpool International Academy got new kits this year, the two girls had the brilliant idea of organizing a uniform collection throughout the club. Here is how you can help.
- Go through your closet to find your old uniforms. This can include Liverpool International Academy, CS United or Abbey Villa Soccer Club uniforms. Jersey tops, shorts and goalie jerseys are acceptable. Warm up pants, jackets and t-shirts are not acceptable.
- All donatable items will be collected and sorted at the Winter College Showcase Tournament in Taunton, December 8-9. For teams U12 and under, who will not attend the Showcase, we will coordinate with your coaches directly to collect the items throughout the fall, before December 9.
- In order to cover the cost of shipping the repurposed gear around the world, you may also choose do donate a dollar amount between $1-5. This is completely optional. Once all the gear is collected by your team, we will sort it and get it ready for shipment to Peace Passers.
A word from Ava and Steph:
"Isn't it exciting to think that our used uniforms could benefit and bring joy to others around the world who love the game like we do??!! Please consider partnering with us by donating your uniform December 8-9. For more information, check out the Peace Passers website at www.peacepassers.org. Given the size of the LFC family, we think it's possible to impact hundreds of children and young adults in dozens of villages around the world. We hope you will partner with us!"
