Liverpool Internatinoal Academy Massachusetts State Team Descriptions
Starting this year (2018/2019), Liverpool IA MA will field State Teams for boys and girls age groups U11-U18 (birth years 2008-2001). These teams will consist of players from our North and South regions and select other players identified and referenced into club from ID clinics as needed.
Players will come together December through July and in general practice once a month on designated training days. However, this might not be possible during March due the the pre-season tournaments schedule. These teams will NOT play in the NEP together. At least for this year, these teams will NOT enter a State Cup competition together.
Each region will initially reference in up to 9 players (U11-12) and 10 players (U13-U18) per team. These players will be invited to attend an ID clinic in November, which will be open to all existing club players and also outside players. Although a player has been referenced in and encouraged to attend the ID clinic, they still need to be selected for State Team.
Uniform - All U13 (2006) - U18 (2001) players are expected to have the Liverpool FC Replica kit (Due to uniform disparity between club regions U11-U12 uniform needs to be determined)
Training - Teams will train at least once per month at designated fields throughout Massachusetts. These locations will be selected, to the best of the club's ability, to evenly distribute travel within regions.
Roster Sizes - Rosters for 9v9 team will be up to 18 players. Rosters for 11v11 will be up to 22 players. This is a full year commitment (late winter, spring early summer months).
Tournaments - Each team will play in at least one spring and one early summer tournament. Time and commitments considered, a third tournament may be added at an additional cost.
ALL PLAYERS ARE EXPECTED TO ATTEND ALL TRAININGS AND GAMES.
(No refunds for training or tournament canceled due to weather or other factors beyond Liverpool IA MA control.) Winter Training will begin late December.
